Daz 3D Genesis 3 (1 and 2 as well) and MakeHuman‘s stand-alone human generators are great. But there is a new add-on that a commenter on this site has pointed out. And it is “Manuel Bastioni Lab” and IT IS AWESOME. (Click here for an older review of Daz 3D vs MakeHuman)
The best part about it (besides it being open-source and free to use for personal or commercial work) is it is a proper Blender add-on that comes with its own tab and parameters. It has rich options for morphing and the base meshes are an ideal polycount for animation and fluid movement deformations, unlike Daz 3D which is too high. The meshes are also a bit more accurate (realistically and cartoon or anime styles included) than MakeHuman’s meshes.
The one drawback is the absence of sliders for morph feedback. MakeHuman and Daz have this advantage but overall this human generator is a great resource to add to your collection.
